Technical Difficulties

I have hit a slight kink. My camera is officially out of commission. I've been using it since August without the view screen, because that broke on vacation, but now I can't even get it to turn on. So until I research what camera update I would like to make (what make and model etc) my photo blog will be out of commission as well. As soon as I have a new one though I will be picture crazy I'm sure. So be on the lookout! I'll be back as soon as possible!

Danke Deutschland!

I'd like to take a moment today to thank Germany for its wonderful contributions to the food world. We paid a visit to a local Oktoberfest yesterday and enjoyed a fantastic meal of veal and pork brats as well as a scrumptious beef brat. Top it off with sweet red cabbage, saurkraut and a fantastic dill infused potato salad and you have a couple big plates of yum! WUNDERBAR!
Inspired by our Oktoberfest trip I asked my hubby to make his absolutely delicious kuchen. Another fantastic German/Austrian dish. So my breakfast this morning was a heaping helping of cherry kuchen. Fall is here and so are the foods that come with it. Watch out waistline!

A Week In A Day

Here are seven of my favorite photos from the last week. Most of them are from a trip we took last weekend. We drove the other half of Rt. 66 in Oklahoma. I have to say I was more impressed with the eastern half of the state. Of course a lot of it had to do with timing. Too many things to see on the western half that require you to be places at a certain time. It never occurred to me that timing would be an issue when traveling Rt. 66. That is definitely something we will have to bear in mind when we decide to travel the entire length of the highway.
New vacuum cleaner. My husband testing it on the dog. Notice the look of half concentration half humor on his face.

Goose crossing. These guys and gals had traffic stopped, and they certainly didn't feel rushed to cross either. The mosey-ed across in their own time.

Elk City Museum Complex

1970's portion of the Clinton Rt. 66 Museum. I loved how my crappy camera was still able to catch the florescence under the black light.

Enjoyed the purple glow of the neon on the 1930's portion of the Rt. 66 museum.

Long pony bridge on Rt. 66

Days 59 and 60

SOMEBODY PLEASE FIX MY WEED EATER! I can't stand this mess much longer.

Went back to Lake Thunderbird to walk the trails this week. It was a nice and cool morning. Saw a lot more deer and was eaten alive by mosquitoes. It was a nice peaceful walk but I am miserable today! I have dozens of tiny bites all over my legs and abdomen. Miserable I tell you! Wish it were possible to take a bath in calamine lotion.
